We are proud to be celebrating 8 years of using Picture News at our school. This award recognises our long‑standing commitment to helping pupils engage with the world around them in thoughtful, meaningful ways.

Picture News plays a vital role in supporting our pupils’ understanding of British Values and protected characteristics, using real and relevant news stories as a stimulus for discussion. Through carefully chosen, age‑appropriate topics, children are encouraged to share opinions, listen respectfully to others, and develop empathy, tolerance and confidence in expressing their views.

By linking learning to current events, Picture News helps pupils make sense of the world, ask thoughtful questions and explore important issues in an engaging and accessible way. This approach continues to support our aim of developing informed, respectful and active citizens.
