Meet the Governors

Gig Mill Governing body work together to ensure high standards of achievement for all in line with the school's vision and ethos.

Our Chair of Governors is Mr D. Edgar, who can be contacted through the school office or at
info@gig-mill.dudley.sch.uk.

Governors visit the school many times during the year on an informal basis as well as on a formal basis - as part of governing body meetings.  This is seen as an important aspect of the partnership between the school and Governing Body.

There are several Governors committees which enable the Governing body to carry out its responsibilities.

  • Setting the school's vision and strategic direction

  • Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils and

  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

The Governors hold regular training sessions and are part of the Dudley Governor support and training network, as well as accessing training more widely, and NGA events.
