UPDATE: 12th November 2020
Year 6 Parents and Carers,
Unfortunately, due to the current national lockdown, the school nurse team are not able to visit schools at this time for general lessons and workshops. This means the nurse is not available to run the puberty sessions with year 6 children that had been planned to take place on 20th November. As soon as we are able to rearrange a date, hopefully for the spring term, we will let you know.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
UPDATE: 14th October 2020
Dear Y6 Parents & Carers,
Unfortunately, the school nurse is no longer available to run the puberty sessions with Y6 children that had been planned to take place on Thursday this week. Instead, the sessions will now be held after half term and as we planned the new date, we were able to split the sessions so that boys and girls can now be taught separately for this unit of work. The new date is Friday 20th November.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by the change of date but this has been unavoidable.
Dear Parents/Carers of Year Six pupils,
As part of our work on Personal, Social & Health Education this term Year 6 will be looking at aspects of sex education with a visit from the school nurse. This session was planned for last term when the children were in year 5 but due to children not being in school this was not able to take place.
The school nurse will be in school on Thursday 15th October.
The boys and girls will be taught together and the work will focus on the changes which happen to boys and girls during puberty. There will be a follow up session in the summer term when the school nurse will visit and talk to the children.
The school nurse will be working alongside staff for these lessons and she will be following the school's risk assessment for being in school at this present time.
If you have any questions, please contact me through the school office.
Mrs A. Suchomski
