Week Commencing 13th July 2020

Hello Nursery,

We can’t quite believe we are in the final week of this term already! We know that lockdown has lasted a lot longer than perhaps we first thought it would and we are sad that we haven’t seen your smiling faces back at Nursery. We cannot put into words how proud we are of all you and how you have coped with this strange situation. You are all super stars!

This week we are thinking about the Creatures in the sea. Can you think of any creatures that might live in the sea? Have you ever seen any of these creatures? Which one is your favourite? We hope you have fun doing the activities.

We would like to wish you all a super summer holiday and make sure you have fun and make lots of memories. Please continue to use the websites and ideas we have been putting on the planning if you wish to over the break. We can’t wait to see you again and see how much you have all grown and find out what you have been up to.

Keep smiling and enjoy your time with your family.

Love From

Mrs Scorer, Mrs McLaughlin and Miss Dugmore

Hello Nursery,

We hope you have all had a good week and have been doing lots of fun things inside and out! Did you see the videos of us reading a story? Hope you enjoyed listening to them, we loved doing them for you.

You can send us pictures, videos and messages to hello@gigmill.dudley.sch.uk  (Please put YN in the email title/subject) to show us what you have been up to. Did you also see our new staff video and letter that has an exciting message for you about our Ofsted report? If not click on this link to have a look Ofsted2020

This week we are thinking about the Holiday Clothes and Summer. What do you like to wear on holiday? What do you need to wear on the beach and in the sun to keep safe? Pick out your favourite outfit, put it on by yourself and get an adult take a photo of you. You could send your photo to us or ask an adult to help you send your photo to a special person in your family.

This week, you will notice in our planning overview that where we have used a video on YouTube we are accessing it through SafeYouTube to make sure that the content that you see is always safe and suitable. You will now only see the video that we wish to share via the link on our overview which helps to ensure that we are all keeping safe online.

Choose some of the activities to do about our topic but remember to have some fun playing at home too! See if you can have a go at the challenges we have set, or think of your own, to demonstrate resilience and perseverance. Good luck!

Hello Nursery,

We are a little bit sad that the weather has changed, but you can still have fun jumping in the puddles like Peppa Pig, but don’t forget to wear your wellie boots!

We hope you had fun last week learning about journeys, maybe you went on little journey? We would love to hear about your journeys, new ones and old ones. So don’t forget you can send us pictures, videos and messages to hello@gigmill.dudley.sch.uk  (Please put YN in the email title/subject).

This week we are thinking about holidays, we know that lots of you have probably missed out on going on holiday, but maybe you could pretend to go on holiday at home. You could pack a suitcase and go from room to room, pretending each room is a different place/country. Or set up a tent and pretend to go on a camping holiday, what might you need? What things might you do when you go camping? Would you have a BBQ?

There is also a special link on the sheet this week all about celebrating Dudley Castle’s huge birthday, have a look and see what fun things you can do. There’s even a competition you can enter!

As always, remember to make time to play and have fun with your families doing the things you love to do, that is important.

Keep up the hard work, you are all AMAZING!

Stay safe, keep smiling and be happy!!

Hi boys and girls,

We hope that you have been having fun in the sun, but remember to keep safe whilst in the sun too. Don’t forget to wear your sun hats and sun cream and definitely enjoy lots of nice cold drinks and an ice cream now and again too!

We hope you enjoyed last week’s air activities and made some amazing aeroplanes. Remember you can send us pictures, videos and messages via hello@gigmill.dudley.sch.uk  (Please put YN in the email title/subject).

Now we have had lots of fun learning about different ways of travelling. We are going to move onto thinking about the journeys, holidays, places we may visit on our travels and things we may need to take with us. So, this week we are focusing on Journeys. Where would you like to visit? How would you get there? We like to play I-spy on our journeys with our families, what do you like to do on your journeys?

There are some stories your grown-ups can share with you this week about different journeys, you could have a go at acting them out. Maybe you have a map at home you could have a little look at and find the places you have been to before. How did you get to these places? Was it by air travel or road travel or maybe on the water? You could also look for some places you would like to go to.

Remember to always make time to play and have fun with your families doing what you love to do, that is important.

We hope you are still helping your parents with jobs at home and remember to do good listening using your listening ears!

Stay safe, keep smiling and be happy!!

Hello Nursery,

We hope you are all keeping well and enjoying being at home with your families. We are all really missing seeing you at Nursery.

We have a new topic for this term called ‘Moving Along’ which is all about transport and travel. What is your favourite form of transport?

We will be updating the website each week with some activities you can try at home. Perhaps if you are out for your daily exercise you could look for a particular colour car or count how many buses or lorries you see.

We hope that you are enjoying this lovely weather and making the most of it. Hope you enjoy our new topic and remember to still make time to play and have fun with your families.

Hope to see you all soon
